The aim of this study was to investigate the cytotoxicity of polyurethane foams (PUFs) and PUF com- posite materials filled with lysozyme using fibroblast tissue culture method. The test results demonstrate that the studied polymer materials under do not have a cytotoxic effect. A more active growth of fibroblastic elements and a slowdown in the process of cell degeneration have been established for PUF composites with lysozyme compared to controls and PUF. These results confirm the potential of PUF composites with lysozyme as medical materials with an antimicrobial activity of the enzyme, which can be used to treat wounds and burns.
