Annotation:

The article presents a review of theoretical provisions and practical research on the problem of psychological trauma of women who have experienced domestic violence by their husbands or partners. It is found that domestic violence is an acute problem in Ukrainian society and has a negative impact on women's physical, reproductive and mental health. New information was obtained on the frequency of violence by husbands or partners among patients with a history of chronic somatic diseases and neurotic disorders. The authors conducted a study of the clinical, psychological, socio-psychological, deontological characteristics of violence by husbands or partners against women when they come to the regional bureau of forensic medical examination in Kharkiv with physical injuries, neurotic disorders, states of prolonged stress, and deterioration of the picture of somatic diseases. The article presents the results of the analysis of psychological parameters statistically associated with the established fact of violence by husbands or partners in the history. The study confirms the existence of a statistical relationship between violence by husbands or partners in the history and neurotic, stress-related and somatoform vegetative disorders, which allows them to be considered as risk markers. The article presents the results of the assessment of coping strategies and styles of women victims of domestic violence, which allow us to characterise them as maladaptive, indicating an increased vulnerability to psychotraumatic family situations and a tendency to mental maladjustment.
