The prevalence of temporary teeth in children is high in the world and in Ukraine, in particular, and varies widely (18.00% to 96.87%) depending on age and region of residence. There is also a tendency to increase in Ukraine the number of children with dentofacial anomalies (DFA). Therefore, the purpose of the study was to evaluate the condition of solid tissues of temporary teeth in children 6-12 years with dentition anomalies. For this purpose we examined 222 children aged 6-12 years (119 children from the dentofacial anomalies (DFA) were the main group and 103 children without the DFA were included in the comparison group). The examination of children was carried out in the presence of informed consent of parents. The prevalence of caries (in %) and the intensity of caries were studied according to the DF index. The results of the study are processed statistically using the Student's criterion. It was established that, on average, among children 6-12 years with DFA, the prevalence of temporary teeth caries was higher than in children without DFA and amounted to 73.95±4.02% against 69.90±4.52% at an intensity of 3.79±0.26 tooth and 3.13±0.14 tooth, respectively. In girls, the prevalence of temporary teeth caries were slightly higher than that of boys. It is also found that with age in both subject groups of children, the number of temporary teeth affected by caries is reduced, which corresponds to the physiological change in the bite. The data obtained indicate insufficient levels of preventive measures and encourage us to further research in order to develop a complex of prevention and treatment of dental caries in children with the dentofacial anomalies (DFA).
