Annotation:
The article examines current issues in developmental physiology in the context of modern socio-economic transformations and the increasing impact of technological factors on the human body. It is substantiated that human development is characterized by heterochrony and a non-linear nature, which manifests in the uneven formation of functional systems and their increased sensitivity during critical and sensitive periods of ontogenesis. It has been established that these periods determine the prerequisites for the formation of adaptive mechanisms, while simultaneously increasing the risk of functional disorders. It is shown that disruptions in regulatory and adaptive mechanisms are systemic in nature and involve neurohumoral, nervous, endocrine, immune, and metabolic levels. The interaction of these systems ensures the maintenance of homeostasis, whereas their imbalance leads to a decrease in functional reserves, impairment of adaptive processes, and the development of a state of maladaptation. It has been determined that, under modern conditions, key determinants of disturbances in developmental physiology include physical inactivity, transformation of motor activity, digitalization of lifestyle, chronic psycho- emotional stress, as well as environmental and social factors. It is substantiated that their combined influence results in the deterioration of the functional state of the organism, reduced adaptive capacity, and an increased risk of pre-nosological conditions and chronic diseases. The study systematizes disruptions in regulatory and adaptive mechanisms, as well as their consequences, in the form of generalized tables reflecting the multilevel nature of changes in the organism. An author’s step-by-step model for optimizing developmental physiology is proposed, which combines diagnostic, preventive, and corrective approaches and is aimed at enhancing the adaptive potential of the organism and preserving health under modern challenges. The obtained results can be applied in medical and pedagogical practice, particularly in the development of programs for the prevention of developmental physiological disorders and the formation of health-preserving behavior.
