It is known that long-term poisoning of the body with ethanol leads to damage to almost all organs and systems. In modern medical and biological scientific literature, there is not enough data on quantitative morphological changes of endothelial cells of the arterial and venous channels of the prostate gland during ethanol intoxication. Morphologically and morphometrically, endotheliocytes of the arteries and veins of the prostate gland of 32 laboratory sexually mature white male rats, which were divided into 2 groups, were studied. The 1st group included 15 intact experimental animals, the 2nd – 17 rats that were in conditions of chronic alcohol poisoning. A month after the start of the experiment, the experimental animals were euthanized by bloodletting under thiopental anesthesia. It was established that the long-term effect of ethanol on the body of experimental animals leads to pronounced structural changes in the endotheliocytes of the arteries and veins of the prostate gland, which were characterized by a decrease in the height of the endotheliocytes, the diameter of their nuclei, a violation of their nuclear-cytoplasmic relations, and a pronounced increase in the number of damaged endotheliocytes. The revealed peculiarities of endotheliocyte remodeling in ethanol poisoning dominated in the venous vessels of the prostate gland.
