The relevance of the study is due to the prevalence of cardiovascular complications after COVID-19 worldwide. The aim of the work is to assess the structural and functional changes in extracranial vessels after COVID-19 infection, their relationship with cardiac remodeling and the circadian rhythm of blood pressure. 1 month after COVID-19, 62 men and 38 women aged 63.14±2.24 years were examined in outpatient settings. All patients underwent ultrasound examination of extracranial vessels, Doppler echocardiography, and daily blood pressure monitoring. The data from the study results were evaluated using primary statistical analysis methods. After COVID-19, thickening of the intima-media complex was detected in 52,0% of patients. In these individuals, the diameter increased by 8,3% and the blood flow velocity decreased by 5,3% in the right common carotid artery. Intima-media complex thickening occurred in 57,3% of cases with hypertrophy and in 36,0% with normal left ventricular geometry. With thickening of the intima-media complex in the examined patients, the size of the left atrium significantly increased by 11,9% and the area index by 20,1%, the end-diastolic size by 11,1% and the volume index by 22,3% of the left ventricle, the end-systolic size by 13,7% and the volume by 32,6% of the left ventricle, the thickness of the myocardium of the posterior wall of the left ventricle by 13,0% and the interventricular septum by 13,0%, the myocardial mass index by 40,9%, the area by 15,9% and the index by 13,8% of the right atrium, and the ejection fraction decreased by 5,3%. In the examined subjects with thickening of the intima-media complex, systolic blood pressure increased statistically significantly by 7,5% and diastolic blood pressure by 12,1%, hypertension time indices systolic blood pressure doubled and diastolic blood pressure by 12,1% during the day; systolic blood pressure by 11.3% at night; average systolic blood pressure by 7,1% and maximum systolic blood pressure by 9.2%, maximum diastolic blood pressure by 9,2% per day. The presence of significant cardiovascular complications in the form of changes in the thickness of the intimamedia complex, disruption of the processes of left ventricular remodeling and normal circadian rhythm of blood pressure in patients after suffering a coronavirus disease indicates the need for further research into the etiopathogenesis of such disorders in the aftermath of COVID-19.
