Abstract. The health of premenopausal women is becoming a priority today. A significant place among premenopausal disorders is occupied by disorders of psycho-emotional state and eating behavior (ЕВ). Correction of psycho-emotional state and ЕВ is of great importance for maintaining a healthy body weight, reducing metabolic disorders, including abdominal obesity, prevention of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The target of the study was to investigate the possibility of correcting ЕВ and anxiety and depressive disorders in premenopausal women through non-drug measures, including dietary changes, increased physical activity and the use of omega-3 dietary supplement. The study involved 42 women aged 41 to 51 years who were premenopausal and overweight or obese and eating disorders. The study lasted for 3 months. Anthropometric research methods (determination of BMI, WC, WC/ HC), bioimpedancemetry (determination of total fat content) were used. The DEBQ questionnaire, which included four independent questionnaires, was used to study ЕВ. The presence of anxiety and depressive disorders was determined using a DOT test questionnaire. The women were divided into 2 groups of 21 people. Both groups followed the same diet and had the same physical activity. Members of the main group additionally received the dietary supplement omega-3 PUFA OmegaPure 820 manufactured by Xymogen. Under the influence of the diet program and regular fitness classes in women of both groups there was a significant improvement in anthropometric indicators. BMI decreased in both groups: by 2.5 kg/m2 (8.7%) in MG and by 1.5 kg/m2 (5.2%) in CG. All women had abdominal obesity at the beginning of the study, as evidenced by WC and WC/HC data.Under the influence of omega-3 PUFA, these values reached normal values, and in CG, although they decreased by 5.3 cm and 0.4, respectively, still exceeded the recommended values. The total fat content decreased in both groups and amounted to 33.8% in MG (4.7% less), which corresponds to the upper limit of normal, and in CG decreased by 3.6%, but exceeded the recommended values for this age group. ЕВ disorders occurred in all women: 93% of women had emotional ЕВ, 83% compulsive overeating, 40% external ЕВ, 69% restrictive ЕВ. In both groups there was a significant improvement in the manifestations of ЕВ disorders, but under the influence of omega-3 PUFA there were significantly better results in all types of ЕВ disorders, especially with regard to emotional ЕВ (79%) and restrictive ЕВ (47%) against 26% and 25% in CG, respectively. The presence of anxiety and depressive disorders to varying degrees occurred in 100% of women at the beginning of the study. Under the influence of dietary drugs and increased physical activity, anxiety decreased in MG by 1 point (15%), and in CG by 0.5 points (7%). Manifestations of depression decreased in MG twice (by 2.9 points, or 52%), and in CG only by 1.3 points (23%). According to the DOT test questionnaire, a significant improvement was also observed in both groups: in MG by 6.2 points (52%), and in CG by 4.3 points (38%). The data obtained by us convincingly testify to the widespread prevalence of ЕВ disorders and anxiety-depressive disorders in premenopausal women. Lifestyle changes, namely nutrition and increased physical activity, not only improve anthropometric parameters, normalize body weight, reduce the manifestations of abdominal obesity and total body fat, but also improve the psycho-emotional state of women and eliminate existing disorders HP. This effect is significantly enhanced by concomitant use of omega-3. Thus, omega-3 PUFA can be recommended for premenopausal to improve their quality of life and prevent the development of metabolic and psycho-emotional disorders, including ЕВ disorders.
