Under the conditions of crush syndrome a stress reaction develops in the victim’s body aimed to focus at mobilizing the energy and structural resources of cells and tissues to maintain homeostasis and adaptation of the human body. The development of stress occurs with the participation of hormones of the adrenal cortex, glucocorticoids and catecholamines. However, the structural changes of the adrenal glands to be needy additional study and clarification. The aim of the study was to find out the morphological features adrenal gland remodeling in the early postcompression period of crush syndrome. The obtained results of the study indicate that in the adrenal glands of experimental rats after 1 day in the early period after decompression manifestations of hemodynamic disorders developed. The vessels of the hemomicrocirculatory channel of the adrenal glands are dilated and full of blood with sludge of erythrocytes. Perivascular edema was also observed. Cells with signs of vacuolar dystrophy and necrosis were found in the glomerular zone. Rounded cells with light similar oxyphilic cytoplasm and small foci of destructive cell changes were diffusely detected in the bundle and reticular zones. Pronounced vacuolization of the cytoplasm of chromatophynocytes was found in the medulla. After 3 days of the experiment in the early postcompression period the phenomena of dystrophy and necrosis increased, and in the full-blooded and dilated vessels of the hemomicrocirculatory channel in addition to erythrocyte sludge, leukostasis was found.
