Relationships in an academic group are an essential component of the effectiveness of the educational process. Achieving psychological comfort and building friendly relations between students based on mutual respect and tolerance is also the responsibility of the academic group curator. One of the useful tools for implementing this task is socionics. The aim is to substantiate the feasibility of the practical application of socionics to create optimal relationships in the team and effective creative interaction in the educational process. Socionics is a theory and psychological practice based on the typology of C. Jung, developed and supplemented by his successors. The basis of the socionic approach is the psychological typing of a personality by pairs of dichotomous traits: intuition - sensory, ethics - logic, rationality - irrationality, extraversion - introversion, which is achieved by testing. Based on the test results, 16 sociotypes, or "information metabolism" types, are distinguished. The Latvian scientist A. Augustinaviciute has studied intertype relationships, which allows for predicting the relationships that develop between socio-types and building relationships in a team with respect for the individuality and uniqueness of each. A good asset of the sociological approach is quick cohesion, fruitful teamwork, and in-depth knowledge of each other, which is especially important in a newly formed team and contributes to the formation of soft skills. Applying the principles and practical tools of socionics in an academic group allows for achieving psychological comfort, preventing xenophobia and bullying, and promoting soft skills development in students. It is advisable to use the methods of socionics to form effective working and creative groups, in particular, to solve professional clinical problems, as well as at the stage of forming academic groups in educational institutions.
