The study focuses on the impact of myopia on the nervous system's reactions to stimuli addressed to different signalling systems. Since modern society is information and cyber-based and people have to process significant amounts of information, there has been a tendency in recent decades to increase the number of people with acquired myopia. Our study aims to determine the peculiarities of neurodynamic functions, perception and processing of stimuli addressed to the I and II signalling systems in people suffering from acquired myopia. The study participants were divided into groups with and without myopia. The Makarenko method was used to study neurodynamic functions. All experiments were conducted following international bioethical standards. Each participant gave written consent to participate in the study. The study considered changes in mental performance at the beginning of the working day and week, carried out on days of high mental performance. To avoid the subjective factor, the state of neurodynamic properties was tested three times. Separate stimuli were selected for each signalling system. The study of neurodynamic functions revealed that people with myopia have shorter latent periods of choice reaction to stimuli addressed to the I and II signalling systems, and an increase in the functional mobility of nervous processes was observed. The slight differences in the values of SVMR and LPRC1-3 are due to their simplicity. The data obtained in the study confirm that myopia can affect the perception and processing of information, depending on the type of stimuli. Such findings are essential for understanding the relationship between visual function and the central nervous system in people with different degrees of myopia.
