The article presents the results of a retrospective clinical and statistical analysis of the dynamics of schizophrenia incidence among inpatients in the Poltava region over a 26-year period (1999-2024). The aim of the study was to investigate the features of nosological and syndromological pathomorphosis of schizophrenia by analyzing the dynamics of clinical forms (F20.x) among hospitalized patients. It was found that the overall dynamics of hospitalizations follow a U-shaped trend, with the 2022-2024 period characterized by a sharp surge in the schizophrenia patient cohort (55.4% increase in F20 in 2022). Stable dominance of the Paranoid form (F20.0) was observed, along with a statistically significant V-shaped resurgence of the Hebephrenic form (F20.1) and a steady increase in the proportion of “Other forms” of schizophrenia (F20.8). Importantly, unlike international trends suggesting mitigation, the proportion of the Catatonic form (F20.2) remains stably low, at approximately ~0.3%. It is discussed that the stress of wartime acts as a powerful factor causing regressive pathomorphosis, marked by the reappearance of disorganized forms, which contradicts the expected overall mitigation of schizophrenia clinical subtypes.
