Dislocation of the acromial end of the clavicle is a common injury that most often occurs during sports activities. In the general population, its frequency is 3-4 cases per 100000 people. Most often, this injury is observed in young men (83.9%), with a peak incidence around the age of 30 (47.6%). The most common methods of stabilisation are the use of a hook plate, as well as Weber's or tension tape methods. The aim is to determine the causal relation ships between the design characteristics of Weber's method of fixation of the acromial end of the clavicle and their shortcomings in cases of damage to the supraclavicular ligament complex. A mathematical and simulation model of fixation of the acromial end of the clavicle using Weber's method has been created. A retrospective analysis was conducted of the treatment outcomes in 31 patients diagnosed with combined injuries of the inferior and superior acromioclavicular ligaments between 2015 and 2023, followed by Weber fixation. A comparison of experimental and clinical data demonstrates their causal relationship. A significant increase in stress levels at the acromial end of the clavicle and the acromion (227.0 MPa and 451.0 MPa, respectively) causes their destruction. The "bone-pin" connection is lost, causing the fixation elements to migrate. The critical stress on the wire, which exceeds the strength limit of surgical steel by 1.5 times, explains the risk of its destruction. The primary disadvantages of Weber's fixation of the acromial end of the clavicle include pin migration, damage to metal structures, and destruction of the acromion of the scapula and the acromial end of the clavicle, resulting in loss of stability and disruption of joint congruency. The results of experimental studies confirm these disadvantages: excessive stress on the specified anatomical structures contributes to their destruction, and critical stress on the wire, exceeding the strength limit of surgical steel, is a key factor in its damage.
