Annotation:

Prevention is the most important principle of family medicine. Predicting the risk of developing diseases in the elderly, early diagnosis, timely informing patients, and taking preventive measures are the most important elements of a family doctor's daily work. Prediction and early detection of diseases are understood to mean detection of the early stages of diseases and developmental abnormalities that can be prevented and treated. The organization of a general practitioner's work should include preventive work based on the time spent. The success of preventive interventions depends on many factors, including the availability of preventive technologies with proven effectiveness, a conscious attitude of everyone to their own health and, as a result, the desire to follow the prescriptions and advice of a family doctor. The purpose of our study was to analyze and highlight current data on disease prevention in the elderly and the role of the family doctor in preventing the onset and progression of diseases. Prevention in medicine is a set of medical, sanitary, hygienic, educational, social and economic measures aimed at preventing diseases and eliminating risk factors. In a broad sense, prevention also includes the comprehensive development of a person. The basis of preventive medicine is an individual holistic approach to treatment. Telemedicine consultations, medical chatbots, medical applications on smartphones - sensors built into fitness bracelets, watches, or clothing - allow monitoring important indicators of the human body. Medical prevention is a key area of healthcare reform in Ukraine.
