Studying the influence of cadmium on embryogenesis remains relevant in our time, since man-made load in industrial regions can have negative consequences for people, especially women during pregnancy, because of causing pathological changes in offspring, as it is able to overcome the placental barrier. The article presents the results of a study of the effect of cadmium chloride at a dose of 2 mg/kg on rats’ embryogenesis in a chronic experiment, as well as a comparative analysis with previous results of studies of the influence of cadmium chloride at a dose of 1 mg/kg. During the consideration of the results, there was a significant decrease in the number of living embryos per 1 female in the cadmium chloride group compared to the control group, as well as a significant increase in the total, preimplantation and postimplantation embryonic mortalities. These indicators have also been compared with the corresponding results of previous studies of the influence of cadmium chloride at a dose of 1 mg/kg for rats’ embryogenesis. Comparison of results revealed a significant increase in general and preimplantation mortality with the introduction of cadmium chloride at a dose of 2 mg/kg, especially on the 20th day of the experiment, while the indicator of postimplantation mortality is almost indistinguishable from the results of previous studies. Thus, the results obtained suggest that the chronic effect of cadmium chloride at a dose of 2 mg/kg has an apparent embryotoxic effect, and compared to relative indicators of general, preimplantation and postimplantation mortalities with similar indicators in previous experiments its toxicity in the early stages of embryogenesis.
