This article presents the remote results (12, 24, 36 months.) of estimation of efficiency of technical implementation and quality of the prophylactic closing of fissures with the use of glass­ionomer cement for children with neuropsychiatric deviations depending on the degree of their mental deficiency. Prophylactic closing of fissures of masticatory group of teeth on upper and lower jaws it was executed in the 41th child (112 teeth) with the different degree of mental deficiency. Depending on the degree of deficiency of intellectual development, children were divided into 3 groups (in ac­ cordance with МKB 10): І group − children with оligopsychia of easy degree (“morons”) − 12 patients. ІІ group − children with оligopsychia of middle degree (“imbeciles”) – 23 patients. ІІІ group − children with оligopsychia of heavy degree (“idiots”) − 11 patients. At the choice of material for the sealing­in of fissures of the second teeth took into account the features of psy­ chosomatic and stomatological status of these children, namely: unpinness and complication of communication; inadequacy, quite often aggressiveness of behavior; restlessness; unsatisfactory hygiene of cavity of mouth; pres­ ence of hypersalivation; predominating of sharp flow of dental caries. In this connection, for realization of the prophylactic closing of fissures glass­ionomer cement of Ketak Molar (3М ESPE) was chosen. By advantages of this material for the prophylaxis of fissures caries in children with neuropsychiatric devia­ tions in development are: active selection of fluorine; antibacterial properties; a less wipening; good regional fitting closely, proof chemical connection with hard tissue of tooth; packing ability; comparative lightness is in technical application. The estimation of quality of the prophylactic closing of fissures was conducted according to the system USPHS. The indexes of “а” and “В” correspond to the satisfactory state of prophylactic coverage of fissures. Namely: index of “а” − an encapsulant is in the excellent state long time. Index of “В” − an encapsulant does not answer ideal criteria and in course of time can require replacement). The index of “с” corresponds to the unsatisfactory state of encapsulant that requires replacement in the near time. An index of “D” − complete absence of encapsulant. Results of application of glass­ionomer cement as material for the prophylactic closing of fissures for children with easy and middle the degrees of mental deficiency indicate the possibility of technical implementation of this procedure and her high efficiency. During 3 years after an encapsulant was fully stored in 52,78 ± 6,02 % % cases for children with the easy degree of abnormality of intellect and at 46,15 ± 6,18 % % – for children with the middle degree of impairment of intellect. To the children having a heavy degree of mental deficiency , taking into account the fea­ tures of their psychosomatic status, technical implementation of stomatological manipulations is practically impos­ sible, because of their inadequate behavior. Therefore all stomatological manipulations in this group of children it is expedient to execute in the conditions of the general anaesthesia. Estimation of quality of the conducted manipula­ tions for children with the heavy degree of impairment of intellect in the conditions of the general anaesthesia after expiration of 3th years indicates just enough efficiency. An encapsulant was fully stored in 43,75 ± 1,43 % cases.
