Objective: to evaluate the efficiency of adipose tissue-derived stem cells in stage II-III of deforming knee osteoarthritis, taking into account the stage of the disease. Object and methods. Fifteen patients with knee osteoarthritis were examined. The average age was 51.41±12.61 years. In 13 (86.67%) patients the unilateral process was established, in 2 (13.33%) – bilateral. The results of examination of 17 knee joints, 11 (64.71%) with stage II of knee osteoarthritis, 6 (35.29%) with stage III were analyzed. Treatment was performed by intra-articular injection of adipose tissue-derived stem cells obtained by Lipogems® technology (Lipogems International SpA, Italy). The condition of the knee joints was assessed on the basis of the results of an objective examination, data from additional diagnostic methods and using the KOOS questionnaire. The results were recorded at the initial application and 12 months after the procedure. Microsoft Excel 2019 and StatSoft STATISTICA 10 were used for statistical analysis. Results. As a result of treatment in patients with knee osteoarthritis in the remote period was able to achieve significantly better functional status of the knee joints in all categories of the KOOS: “Symptoms” (p=0.000001), “Pain” (p=0.00003), “Function, daily life” (p=0.00002), “Function, sport and active recreation” (p=0.000003), “Quality of life” (p=0.0005). Significant improvement in all criteria of the KOOS scale was observed in patients with stage II of knee osteoarthritis in the categories “Symptoms” (p=0.00005), “Pain” (p=0.0002), “Function, daily life” (p=0,00007), “Function, sports and active recreation” (p=0.00006) and “Quality of life” (p=0.00006)), and in patients with stage III of knee osteoarthritis (by category “Symptoms” (p=0.005), “Pain” (p=0.005), “Function, daily life” (p=0.005), “Function, sports and recreation” (p=0.004), “Quality of life” (p=0.02). Conclusion. The high efficiency of adipose tissuederived stem cells in case of stage II-III of deforming knee osteoarthritis has been proved.
