Scientific directions, even within one discipline, are not independent. There is no sharp border between them. Interdisciplinary synthesis is now increasingly being considered as one of the most important aspects of emergence of new scientific knowledge. The study of hard tissue formations, in particular, teeth, both in stomatology and in other biological directions remains topical. The article analyzes the research of dental material from anthropological meetings in order to use the results in the medical field. The materials were the anthropological collections collected by the employees of the Poltava Museum of Local Lore, Poltava National Pedagogical University. V.G. Korolenko studied for the disease of tooth decay. On the basis of the study of odontological fossil and subfossil material, a comparative mathematical multifactor analysis (the method of dot graphs) of carious pathology was carried out. The results of the studies were transformed into graphs. In this paper, we analyze the graphs of the change in the intensity and prevalence of dental caries from the era of copper with prediction into the future. The intensity and prevalence data are transformed into percentages. Graphs represent the dynamics of dental caries parameters – their evolution in different historical periods on the territory of modern Ukraine. This dynamics shows that the carious process has made several changes during its existence in the selected range of development of the human population. These changes took a certain amount of time. The described circumstance may indicate that changes in carious pathology are jumps of a gradualistic type. The study reveals the problem of the ratio of the quantity and quality of preventive and clinical interventions aimed at solving problems arising from pathologies that are pandemic in nature. The solution of problems of this type is not possible in the competence of medicine alone. Hence, it is natural to consider this and similar problems by the commonwealth of specialists in different fields of science engaged in research in one area.
