The aim of the experimental study was to determine morphogenetic disorders of fetal liver and rat embryos in chronic intragastric exposure to cadmium salts with germanium / selenium citrates in a pregnant female. On the 13th day of rat embryogenesis, isolated exposure to cadmium chloride led to changes in liver structure: parenchymal compaction, connective tissue growth, connective tissue capsule stratification, sinusoids had local expansions with a high level of blood supply. Thickened hepatic beams and partial exfoliation of the liver capsule were observed when cadmium citrate was isolated. Histological changes in the structure of the embryonic liver parenchyma were not detected in the groups of combined administration of cadmium salts with selenium/ germanium citrate. When exposed to cadmium chloride on the 20th day of rat embryogenesis, the hepatofetal index increased by 11.6% compared to the control group, and exposure to cadmium citrate did not lead to a significant difference with the control and revealed disorders of the fibrous membrane of the liver and local thickenings , the liver parenchyma had a high proportion of connective elements with reduced vascularization. The effect of cadmium citrate was determined histologically in the following changes: mesothelium of the serous membrane consisted of loose cells, indicating a lag in organogenesis, the parenchyma of the organ had a high level of blood supply without changes in the formative processes of liver beams and hepatocytes. The spectrum of histological disorders of embryonic liver development, changes in liver weight and hepatofetal index under the action of cadmium chloride and citrate in isolation and in combination with germanium or selenium citrates were experimentally determined. The positive effect of selenium citrate, germanium citrate on the hepatogenesis of rats when combined with cadmium salts was established and the bioanthogonistic properties of selenium and germanium citrates were revealed. Selenium citrate and germanium citrate have been shown for the first time to reduce the level of hepatotoxicity of cadmium salts when combined in all respects on both the 13th day and the 20th day of rat embryonic development. The obtained data are the basis for further study of the effect of germanium and selenium citrates as substances with bioantagonistic properties against cadmium salts and the possible development of pharmacological treatments and prophylactics that may reduce the negative toxic effect of cadmium salts on the liver of people living in manmade contaminated regions or work in an environmentally unfavorable environment.
