Annotation:
The article presents a detailed analysis of the historical development of the Poltava branch of the Scientific Society of Anatomists, Histologists, Embryologists and Topographers of Ukraine, as well as its current scientific and practical activities. The membership of the branch includes the academic staff of the Departments of Human Anatomy; Histology, Cytology and Embryology; Anatomy with Clinical Anatomy and Operative Surgery; and Biology of Poltava State Medical University, as well as the staff of the Department of Normal and Pathological Anatomy and Physiology of Animals of Poltava State Agrarian University. The article outlines the titles of the initiative research projects conducted by each department, their key objectives, and their contribution to the advancement of contemporary morphology and medicine. Recommendations are provided regarding sequential steps for further development, particularly in increasing public visibility, ensuring systematic organisation of activities, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthening support for young researchers. These measures will enable the Poltava branch to evolve into a local hub of morphological science with a notable national impact.
