Annotation:

Teaching excellence plays a leading role in ensuring the high quality of the educational process, which is formed based on professional self-awareness, the desire for individual and professional growth, as well as being open to new ideas and willing to learn continuously. Nowadays, a modern university teacher has to adapt to rapid changes, in particular in terms of digitalization, development of new technologies, transformation of approaches to the learning process and global challenges that define new standards of higher education. The aim of the publication is to analyze the importance of improving educational skills as one of the key factors in the professional development of a new teacher in a medical university, and also to highlight the peculiarities of forming pedagogical competencies based on the example of the Pediatrics clinical department №2. The paper analyzes the major aspects of forming the pedagogical competence of a medical university teacher by the example of the Pediatrics clinical department №2 of Poltava State Medical University. Special attention is paid to the importance of courses for improving educational skills being an important element of professional growth of new academic staff, and also their role in the improvement of pedagogical performance. The results of the study show that the systematic pedagogical training has a positive impact on the motivation of teachers to self-improvement and introduction of innovative approaches to teaching, which leads to better quality of future physicians' prepa ration and formation of practically oriented competencies, as well as improvement of clinical training through the implementation of interactive learning and simulation training. Professional growth of new teachers is essential for high-quality medical education. Improvement of teaching competence helps to implement modern teaching methods and increases the efficiency of the entire educational process.
