Defects and aesthetic deformations of the anterior abdominal wall (AAW) are a significant problem in modern surgery. They most often develop as a result of postoperative complications, injuries, obesity, or significant fluctuations in body weight. An important aspect in the treatment of such patients is the assessment of the morbid background, which includes concomitant diseases, metabolic status, and general health. The study aims to determine the features of the morbid background of patients with defects and aesthetic deformities of the anterior abdominal wall. The study included 288 patients of the Center who underwent various types of plastic and reconstructive surgical interventions on the anterior abdominal wall from 2014 to 2024. Patients were divided into 3 groups: aesthetic-reconstructive profile group, inguinal-herniological profile group, ventral-herniological profile group. In each group, the average values of age, sex, body mass index (BMI), length of stay in the hospital, types of surgical interventions, duration of surgical intervention were given, and the percentage distribution of patients by the morbid background of concomitant pathology was performed. Therefore, before surgical intervention, it is essential to pay special attention to identifying and correcting the underlying disease, since concomitant diseases can significantly affect both the operation and postoperative recovery. Uncompensated pathologies can complicate the course of surgical treatment, increase the risk of complications and negatively impact the general condition of the patient. Therefore, it is advisable first to stabilize concomitant diseases, ensure their compensation and implement preventive measures. Such an approach will help reduce risks, increase the effectiveness of surgical treatment and speed up the patient's recovery.
