Annotation:

The article deals with the issues of foreign language training of future doctors and the use of special medical terms by medical students. It is noted that the successful formation of professional and communicative skills of medical students depends on the active enrichment of their vocabulary with terminology based on professionally oriented texts and dictionaries, work on stable skills of communicative self-control and self-analysis. It has been determined that the acquisition of foreign medical vocabulary is complicated by the problems of terminological synonymy, difficulties in translating medical abbreviations and metaphorical terms, distortion or incomplete understanding of eponymic terms. An important task in the development of foreign language competence in teaching clinical disciplines is the acquisition of foreign medical vocabulary in accordance with the profile of the department.
