The use of modern pesticide formulations in agriculture leads to the need to control the residual amounts of their active substances in food products, agricultural raw materials, and environmental objects. In the case of more toxic and persistent metabolites, this control should ensure the determination of not only the chemical plant protection agent's active substance but the total determination of this active substance and its metabolites. Methods for determining the herbicides cletodim, amicarbazone, isoxaflutol, pyridate, flufenacet, fungicide acibenzolar-S-methyl, insecticide and acaricide bifenazate and plant growth regulator trinexapak-ethyl as the sum of the substance and its metabolites in agricultural products and environmental objects using the inverse method were developed -phase high performance liquid chromatography. The preparation of samples of agricultural products and objects of the environment for the overall determination of the studied active substances of plant protection products and their metabolites in them involves not only the main stages for the analysis of residual amounts of pesticides - the extraction of compounds from the matrix, purification and concentration of the obtained extracts, but also the following chemical reactions, such as oxidation (flufenacet) or reduction (biphenazate), acid (flufenacet) or alkaline (pyridat, acibenzolar-S-methyl) hydrolysis, derivatization (isoxaflutol), steam distillation (flufenacet). Implementing the developed methodological guidelines will contribute to the improvement of monitoring of pesticides in the environment and the implementation of measures to prevent their harmful effects on the health of the population of Ukraine.
