Single focal lesions of the lungs have been an actual problem in the last decades. It is known that the development of single pulmonary nodules can manifest many diseases of the lungs and systems of the human body. The most complete and reliable information is provided by morphological research. Therefore, the study aimed to establish the effectiveness of the morphological diagnosis of single necrotized focal lung lesions of non-neoplastic origin, depending on the method/method of obtaining biopsy and operative material. The study included 84 cases of single focal lesions of the lungs with a necrotic component and a morphological study, which were divided into 3 groups: 1 group – 6 biopsies obtained during minimally invasive procedures, without further surgical intervention; Group 2 – 8 cases with minimally invasive procedures and subsequent surgical intervention; Group 3 – 70 cases of resection material. The levels of diagnostic effectiveness of the histological examination of the material obtained during various procedures for the collection of biological material demonstrated the superiority of lung resections with necrotized focal lesions. The highest efficiency of morphological diagnosis was achieved during a histological examination of the resected material and amounted to 95.7%.
