Treatment of acute odontogenic osteomyelitis of the jaws; despite availability of modern diagnostic equipment in local clinics and presence of a significant number of new pharmacological medications the challenge for maxillofacial surgery still remains as evidenced by the fairly frequent occurrence of atypical disease and chronization of inflammation process. Despite significant scientific achievements of modern dentistry and anesthesiology problem to combat pain and stress symptoms remains one of the most complex issues today. This necessitates the use of protective measures, in particular, sedation before surgery to reduce the threshold level of psychoemotional tension and relieve fear. The most effective remedy is the use of tranquilizers, neuroleptics, antidepressants that have sedative properties. Psycho-emotional condition of the child, especially with acute inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial area, which is a significant area of nociceptive sensitivity is an essential component of nonstandard situation in which the child in this case. From a balanced approach to sedation preparation of the patient before surgery largely depends on the quality of the manipulation, and sometimes even the subsequent course of the disease. Therefore, the question regarding the development or testing of new methods of sedation with the inclusion in the composition of pharmacological agents that are characterized antistressor properties and allowing, to a certain extent, to neutralize any adverse symptoms from the сentral nervous system before and after surgery is very important.The article presents the results antistressor efficiency sibazon with additional involvement in the composition of the mixture premedication before surgery in 26 children with acute odontogenic osteomyelitis of the jaw bones with an average degree of anxiety. Due to this, there is a stabilization of blood pressure, heart rate, indicators of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection in the oral fluid, indicating the manifestation of his pronounced antistressor action. The analysis of the results obtained after the application of sibazon pointed not only to improve the emotional state of patients, and effect on biochemical components of the oral fluid, the ascending values of which for the period of the initial survey did not significantly differ from the parameters in the previous group. For the period of surgical intervention (after 30-40 minutes after premedication) in children this group has a slight increase in the initial and final levels of MDA and its growth at constant values of the indicators of SOD and catalase. Positive changes in biochemical components of the oral fluid at this point to a more pronounced potentiation of stress resistance and increase compensatory-adaptive possibilities of organism of children of this group of observation to surgical intervention.
