The main principles of epilepsy treatment are duration, continuity and regularity. The study aimed to examine the state of medical care for children with epilepsy during the war in Ukraine, identify the most acute problems that arose during martial law in the families of these patients, and develop ways to solve them. To fulfil the study's objectives, in March-April 2023, an anonymous online survey of parents of children with epilepsy was conducted using a questionnaire of our own design. The survey involved parents of 108 children with various forms of epilepsy aged 1 to 18, whom the authors have observed for a long time. In 11 patients (10.19%), seizure control was lost (failure of medication remission). The parents mentioned the main reasons for this: stress, forced change of antiepileptic drugs, and intercurrent diseases. An increase in seizures was recorded in 31.11% of cases. Parents of 87.96% of patients reported finding adequate contact with a doctor during the war. Parents of 58.33% of patients gave the highest score to the quality of neurologist's care. At the same time, parents of 50.49% of patients reported difficulties in obtaining medications at budgetary expense, and 48.54% had problems with purchasing medications at their own expense in pharmacies. Practical measures to optimise care for children with epilepsy are proposed.
