According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), tooth loss from gum disease is five times more common than caries complications and is the second most common. Diseases of periodontal tissues are diagnosed in 85-95% of the adult population of our country over the age of 35. The analysis of recent studies proves a strong link between the development of periodontal diseases and the pathology of internal organs, namely, the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and respiratory organs - lungs, heart, and urinary system. One of these diseases, which is associated with pathological processes in various organs and systems of the body, is chronic kidney disease (CKD). Chronic kidney disease is a large group of diseases that have different causes but are united by the fact that they have a long course and a tendency to progress until complete loss of kidney function. The study aimed to investigate the incidence and structure of periodontal tissue diseases in patients with CKD and determine their clinical course features. As a result of the clinical and laboratory study of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), a high prevalence of periodontal diseases was found - 100%. Generalised lesions of periodontal tissues dominated the structure of diseases. The results of the studies showed that the course of generalised periodontitis in the examined patients depends on the age and severity of chronic kidney disease. In the structure of periodontal diseases in patients with CKD, advanced degrees of damage to the tooth-retaining apparatus prevailed - generalised periodontitis of II and III degrees of development.
