Despite existing research, the relationship between body weight, menopause, ageing processes, and hormonal status remains insufficiently understood. Oestrogen deficiency is considered a key pathogenetic factor in the devel- opment of obesity during the menopausal period. The aim of this study is to analyse the characteristics of eating behaviour in overweight women during menopause, with a focus on osteoporosis prevention. The study included 200 women aged between 48 and 72 years residing in Ukraine. Menopause was confirmed in 174 participants. According to the data obtained, 46% of the women were overweight, 21% had class I obesity, 17% had class II obesity, 1.5% (equivalent to 3 women) had class III obesity, and 3% were underweight. One of the components of the survey was the assessment of daily physical activity levels. The majority of respon- dents (123 out of 200) reported no engagement in regular physical activity, including home-based exercise routines. A subset of participants (46 women) considered walking with pets or grandchildren to constitute an adequate level of physical exertion. Only 14 women (7% of the total sample) reported leading an active lifestyle with regular physical exercise. The study also revealed a tendency towards irrational dietary patterns. Most women reported having two main meals per day supplemented by several snacks, while 17% admitted to frequent episodes of overeating. Additionally, it was observed that women over the age of 50 rarely incorporate aerobic exercise into their daily routines and are generally unaware of diagnostic approaches for identifying micronutrient deficiencies, particularly those associated with the development of osteoporosis.
