The urinary bladder is an important organ of the urinary system, functional and structural changes of which can occur in various pathologies. At the same time, quantitative morphological changes in the structures of the urinary bladder in conditions of prolonged postresection portal hypertension have not been studied sufficiently. The aim of the research – study the quantitative morphology of urinary bladder structures under conditions of experimental hypertension in the portal hepatic vein. The structures of the bladder wall of 22 laboratory sexually mature male Vietnamese pigs, which were divided into 3 groups, were morphologically and morphometrically studied. Group 1 – 5 control animals, Group 2 – 11 pigs with postresection hypertension in the portal hepatic vein, Group 3 – 6 animals with postresection portal hypertension, which developed multiple organ failure. The animals were euthanized by exsanguination under anesthesia. Micropreparations and semi-thin sections were prepared from the bladder, on which the thickness of the mucous, muscular, adventitious membranes, submucosa, indices of relationships between morphometric parameters of shells, the area of epitheliocytes, their nuclei, nuclear-cytoplasmic indices, and the volume of damaged epithelial cells were determined. Quantitative indicators were processed statistically. It was established that postresection hypertension in the portal hepatic vein system was accompanied by pronounced remodeling of the bladder structures. It was found that in postresection portal hypertension, the thickness of the mucous and muscular membranes decreased, the thickness of the submucosa and the adventitia increased, the relationship between the morphometric parameters of the bladder membranes was disturbed, the area of epithelial cells and their nuclei decreased, nuclear-cytoplasmic indices changed, and the volume of damaged epithelial cells increased. The conducted studies and the obtained results indicate that resection of the left and right lateral lobes of the liver in pigs is complicated by postoperative hypertension in the portal hepatic vein system, which leads to pronounced remodeling of the structures of the urinary bladder, which is characterized by uneven, disproportionate changes in the morphometric parameters of its membranes, atrophy, apoptosis, dystrophy, necrobiosis of epithelial cells, disturbances in their cellular structural homeostasis, an increase in the volume of affected epithelial cells, focal infiltrates and sclerosis. The established morphological changes in the urinary bladder dominated in the combination of postresection hypertension in the hepatic portal vein system with multiple organ failure.
