Providing high-quality and highly qualified treatment is the most urgent issue of modern dentistry. Effective work is possible only when creating the necessary and correct working conditions and workplace equipment, ensuring comfort, adaptability of work objects, and permissible physical and psychological load during work. The work of a dentist is mainly static and is performed in a sitting position. It is believed that minimizing body movements during work is more ergonomically correct, allowing for reduced energy consumption. Unfortunately, there are flaws in this approach that are rarely discussed and explored among academics. Maintaining even the most ergonomically correct body position requires constant effort on the part of the musculoskeletal system, and incorrect posture causes tension in the entire body, to a greater extent in the muscles, ligaments and bones. Because of this, they are constantly overloaded. Specialists in ergonomics consider such an aspect as an argument for qualifying the work of a dentist as harmful and the consequences of such work and related diseases as occupational diseases. Optimum organization of the working space and compliance with the principles of ergonomics is a basic necessity in the work of a dentist, without which it is impossible to do. Using the rules of ergonomics allows you to reduce energy consumption, reduce the time of manipulations, increase work efficiency and minimize the negative impact on health. Popularization of information on this subject among students, interns and dentists is of great importance because properly organized work is a solid foundation for a successful career.
