This article discusses community-acquired pneumonia's clinical and paraclinical features in young children. Despite modern clinical guidelines and protocols for treating this pathology, many problematic issues related to the clinical features and methods of diagnosing pneumonia still need to be clarified. Our study aimed to determine the peculiarities of community-acquired pneumonia in young children. The study is based on the analysis of medical records of inpatients aged 1 to 3 years diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia who were treated in a specialized department at the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council”. The data obtained can help improve the disease's diagnosis, treatment and prevention, considering the region's peculiarities. According to the survey results, the average age of all patients, according to a retrospective analysis of medical records, was 1 ± 1.5 years, regardless of the severity of the disease. When analyzing the features of clinical manifestations of pneumonia at the time of admission to the hospital, the main symptoms and risk factors for complications were identified. The main risk factors for complications of community-acquired pneumonia were previous use of antibiotics, presence of comorbidities, and non-compliance with the vaccination schedule. Studying these cases can help identify the main trends in morbidity, possible complications of this pathology, and the effectiveness of treatment.
