The research focuses on the study and analysis of recent scientific research demonstrating alpha-tocopherol acetate (vitamin E) used to reduce pathological changes caused by the toxic heavy metal cadmium (Cd). It causes hyperproduction of reactive oxygen species and associated oxidative stress (OS), leading to diseases such as multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular, oncological, neurodystrophic and many others. Developmental and reproductive disorders, malformations, kidney, liver, vascular dysfunction, etc, are observed. The use of natural compounds with antioxidant properties to reduce the critical role of OS in Cd toxicity has been studied extensively. It is the natural biologically active components that enter the body with food that are promising and promising. Vitamin E is considered a powerful antioxidant. It protects cell membranes from oxidation, neutralises the effects of free radicals, resists ageing, and promotes recovery at the cellular level. It provides a huge number of functions in the body, including protection of cell membranes from damage caused by oxidation processes (antioxidant effect), oxygen saturation of cells (antihypoxic effect), tissue resistance to oxygen starvation and influence on cellular respiration, reducing the level of bad cholesterol in the blood and preventing cancer, heart and vascular diseases, collagen synthesis in the bone system, protein production in smooth and skeletal muscles, as well as the formation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, placenta, liver enzymes, gonadotropic hormones, strengthening the immune system, etc. Modern scientific knowledge allows us to more actively offer vitamin E as an antioxidant food supplement.
